Drumlord Limited receives additional government funding

Oct 22, 2024

Drumlord Limited, a Welsh 3D printing and vacuum casting service provider supplying models, prototypes, and low-volume parts to companies in various industrial sectors, has recently received additional funding from CCBC and the UK Government – taking the total amount received through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund from 2022 to 2024 to £37,513. Some of Drumlord’s clients include International Film & TV Studios, Panasonic, Sony, and Emirates Airways.

The first grant of £12,600 was awarded to Drumlord through Caerphilly County Borough Council’s intervention of UKSPF funds in 2022/23, and the grant was matched by the company to reinforce its IT structure. These funds allowed the company to send work from order to workshop electronically, as well as bill the customer directly and more accurately – programming the order and calculating the costs at the same time.

The second grant of £24,913 in 2023/24 was awarded for building outlay work and workshop modifications to streamline workshop processes. The remodeling of its production floor for production vacuum casting was needed to accommodate the ever-expanding client orders. The area has been split into areas to maximize quality for casting and increasing mold size.

“A tour of the business to see how this cutting–edge technology works was incredibly informative. It has been good to link up with Drumlord to help support them on their journey,” said Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration, and Climate Change.

“The award of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Grants from Caerphilly County Borough Council helped us to invest in significant improvements to our Vacuum Casting department. We were able to expand the facility and invest in improved ventilation, extraction, and lighting which has had an immediate impact on our business. Not only have we increased our production capacity, but the changes have improved efficiency and quality too, greatly benefitting our customers,” said Rob Aldridge, Managing Director of Drumlord Limited.
